Jeff Tate Employee of the Month
"Pizzas and burgers taste like they are made with love." That's how several students have described the taste of the burgers and pizzas at Thomas Jefferson Hall, thanks to a man named Jeff. Jeff is a new line worker for Chartwells, who caters the food here on the Missouri S&T campus. I cannot think of a time that I have ever had a conversation with a person who works as a line worker for Chartwells, until I met Jeff.
Jeff works the pizza station during the lunch period at the Thomas Jefferson cafeteria. When you walk up to this station, you will find him wearing a nice smile and he will greet you. Then he'll ask if you would like to have some pizza. If not, that's fine with him. He'll proceed to strike up a conversation with you and ask how your day's been. During this time, if you want a burger but no one is at the burger station, he'll always be the first person to race over there to thro a burger on for you. Again, while the burger is sitting on the grill, he'll do his best to entertain you in some way so you aren't just standing there waiting for your food. During the dinner time though, Jeff is actually stationed where the burgers are made and you'll always find him there. There isn't a time that I can think of where I have gone to the burger station during the dinner hours and he hasn't been over there waiting patiently to put a burger on the grill. You'll always find him during his down time separating the different styles of cheese that you can put on your burger or helping out another worker.
Still after working all day at lunch and then during dinner, Jeff still has the same upbeat attitude that can really turn a sour day around. It's evident through his actions and attitude that Jeff truly seems like to enjoy his job and loves to interact with students. We appreciate all he does to make our days a little brighter.
Enjoy an old world feel with giant turkey legs, giant roasted carrots, and bread bowls for savory chicken and gravy! Check your sword, shield and staff at the door. Sorry, no mead!
